Editorial standards for guides and comparisons

MemoirWell publishes practical family-story guides and comparisons intended to help readers choose a workflow. This page explains how those pages are researched and maintained.

Our relationship to comparison pages

MemoirWell creates and provides the MemoirWell product, so we are not a neutral third party when we compare it with another service. Every comparison identifies that relationship, presents situations where either workflow may fit, and links the competitor facts to official sources.

Sources and review dates

Competitor features, plans, and prices are checked against the company's own product, help, or pricing pages. Each article displays the sources used and the date on which the page was reviewed. A dated statement is a record of that review, not a promise that the competitor will never change its offering.

How guides are prepared

Family-interview and oral-history guidance starts with established primary professional resources, including the Oral History Association and Smithsonian interviewing guidance. We favor informed permission, clear access choices, source preservation, explicit uncertainty, and narrator review over invented detail or one-size-fits-all rules.

What we leave out

We avoid claims that cannot be tied to a current official source, unsupported superlatives, hidden affiliate positioning, and search-keyword variations that do not add useful information. Frequently asked questions are written for readers and are not marked up as FAQ rich results.

Corrections

If a source has changed or a description is inaccurate, contact MemoirWell using the address in the privacy policy. We review specific corrections against the current official source and update both the wording and review date when warranted.
