A family snapshot to read again later
A family time capsule worksheet you can fill in and print.
What would you like your family to remember about life right now? Gather a few ordinary details, label the things you are including and leave a message for the people you will become.
Six optional sections · Your own words · Text download · Blank or filled browser printing · No account
Getting the worksheet ready…
Start with one detail from today
You do not need a special anniversary or a finished family history. Ask each person for something small: a shared routine, a moment from the year or a detail about home. Choose any section, and use the reference field to keep names, item labels and unanswered questions beside the notes.
The Somewhat Simple family time capsule activity describes gathering family photos and memorabilia and filling out sheets together. The Super Mom Life printable activity offers a snapshot of the year for children or adults to fill in. This worksheet uses original MemoirWell prompts and adds an editable contents section and a separate reference field for each topic.
A fictional example
Date prepared: July 4, 2026. When we hope to open it: summer 2031, when we can meet again. Our notes: On Saturdays, Rosa makes pancakes while Jo reads out the shopping list. Contents: C-01, a copy of our kitchen photograph; C-02, this week’s handwritten list. References: Jo wrote these notes; ask Rosa which year the photograph was taken.
Give the contents names you will recognize
An item reference can be a short label, a photo filename or a description in your own words. Use the same label in the contents notes and beside the item. Different memories can stay different: name the person who shared each one instead of turning an uncertain date into an agreed fact.
Before you save your capsule worksheet
Can I print a blank family time capsule worksheet?
Yes. An entirely empty worksheet prints all six sections with handwriting lines. You can add a family name or dates and still print every blank section. Filled copies include sections with notes or references and skip untouched topics.
Will MemoirWell store the capsule or open it on a date?
No. This is a worksheet you save yourself. The opening field is an optional note, such as “summer 2031,” and does not schedule an email, reminder or future unlock. You arrange what happens to the saved sheet and any physical items.
Where are my family’s notes saved?
Only in this page’s memory. They are not uploaded or autosaved; refreshing or closing clears them. Download text or print before leaving. No photographs or other files are attached. The downloaded TXT or PDF cannot be reopened as an editable worksheet here.
How do I print or save a PDF?
Print or save PDF opens your browser’s print dialog. Choose Letter or A4 and check the preview. Browser-menu printing works from the editor too. Long notes can continue onto another page; reference labels include the section number.
Is there a story behind one of these details?
Save the capsule worksheet first. MemoirWell’s separate guided interview can help you develop your own memory into an AI-assisted draft chapter to check and edit. Your capsule notes are not transferred automatically.
