Getting the worksheet ready…
Give the news a little context
Choose a period and the family or group this update is about. Start with whichever section comes easily: an ordinary moment, a visit, a milestone or a memory someone shared. Leave unused sections blank. Use Checks before sharing for a spelling, date, photo reference or permission you still want to confirm. Those checks stay in the TXT and printed worksheet, so review the whole saved copy before sharing.
The Venngage family-newsletter introduction describes sharing family updates, milestones and stories. In her family newsletter article, Sarah at The Simply Crafted Life explains that she also keeps newsletters in yearly albums. MemoirWell’s six original writing sections can help you make a working copy for either purpose; no publisher template, design or example is reproduced.
Let ordinary moments count
You can write about a familiar meal, a phrase someone uses or a small change in daily life. Check with people before including their news or words. A working note can say that a plan or date is undecided. This page creates your worksheet locally; it does not send email, upload photos or maintain a mailing list.
A fictional example
Family: Maple cousins. Issue: Autumn update. Small moment: Jo and Rosa found the old porch bench comfortable enough for one more story after lunch. Checks before sharing: Ask Rosa whether she wants her exact words included; the month of the visit is still uncertain. These people and events are invented.
Before you save the newsletter worksheet
Is this a free printable family newsletter template?
Yes. The blank worksheet prints all six sections with writing lines. Filled printing and TXT keep sections with words or checks and skip untouched sections. A section containing only a check is included too. This is a working text worksheet, with your check notes included in the saved copy.
Can I use it for an annual letter or a shorter update?
Yes. The issue or period is your own text, and all six sections are optional. Use the ones that fit the people and purpose you have in mind. You can keep the copy in a family album or review and adapt it before sharing.
Are my words saved or uploaded?
They stay only in this page’s memory, without upload or autosave. Refreshing or closing clears them. Download text or print before leaving. Saved TXT or PDF copies cannot be reopened as an editable worksheet here. Include only details you want in that copy.
How do I print or save a PDF?
Choose Review my worksheet, then Print or save PDF, or print from the browser menu while editing. Choose Letter or A4 and check the preview. Long words and notes can continue onto later pages. Section labels and your working checks remain with the text.
Keep the longer story too
Save this worksheet first. MemoirWell’s separate guided interview can help you develop your own memory into an AI-assisted draft chapter to check and edit. Newsletter notes are not transferred automatically.
