Getting the worksheet ready…

The worksheet hasn’t loaded. Reload the page

Your words stay in this page’s memory, without upload or autosave. Refreshing or closing clears them. Save before leaving. This page prepares a text handout; it does not send it, arrange a service or place a printing order.

Prepare the words you want guests to keep

Every field is optional. Use your own wording and check names, dates, location and running order with the people arranging the service before sharing the program.

Write the name as you want guests to see it. Check the spelling with the family.

Use the dates or years you want to include, or leave this out. No dates are calculated.

Use the agreed date and time, including a time zone if it helps guests.

Use the venue, address or meeting details you want in the printed program.

Write a short personal introduction in your own words. This page does not supply a tribute, prayer or quotation.

Put each part on its own line, with names or timings where useful. Confirm the running order with the people arranging the service.

Include the names and roles you want to acknowledge, after checking with those involved.

Add a personal thank-you or agreed details for a gathering afterward. Include only what you want guests to receive.

Give guests a clear guide to the gathering

A program can help people follow what will happen and remember who is taking part. Keep the running order specific to your gathering. Confirm names, pronunciations, timing and location with the family and the people arranging the service before sharing copies.

Carson’s Village’s guide to funeral programs describes a printed document given to guests and includes the schedule, speakers and event details among possible contents. Elegant Memorials’ program outline discusses service information, an order of service and acknowledgements, and notes that a program need not include a photo. This editor offers an original, simple text layout; it does not reproduce their templates.

Write only what you want guests to receive

You can leave dates, a personal remembrance or any other part out. Use your own words and the names people have agreed to share. The order of service field is blank for your arrangement; this page supplies no ceremony, prayers, lyrics or family facts.

A fictional example

For a small gathering remembering Alex, an order might read: Welcome — Sam; A memory from the family — Jo; Time for others to speak; Closing thanks. These people and arrangements are invented. Your program should follow the running order agreed for your own gathering.

A spoken tribute can be prepared separately with the eulogy writing worksheet. Use the obituary worksheet for a life announcement rather than putting the whole draft into the program.

Before you print or share the program

Is this a free printable memorial service program template?

Yes. Fill in the optional fields without an account, download text or choose Print program. Your browser can print or save a PDF in Letter or A4. An ordinary short program can fit one page; check the preview, because long names, repeated line breaks or longer writing can require more pages.

Can I use it for a funeral or celebration of life?

You can use your own title and running order for a memorial service, funeral or celebration of life. Check the arrangement with the people organizing it. This is a simple text handout, not a folded booklet, photo editor, service booking or professional printing order.

What appears in a blank or filled copy?

With no program details, or only a title, all eight fields print with labels and handwriting lines. Once any program detail is entered, only fields containing words print. The name, dates, time and location appear without form labels, and the personal remembrance has no field heading. The order, participants and thanks keep useful headings. Nothing is inferred for an empty field.

Does the text download match the printed handout?

It preserves the same entered words and their original spacing and line breaks. TXT keeps field labels so the parts remain understandable in a plain text file; the filled handout omits labels around the identity and service details. Neither TXT nor PDF can be reopened here for editing.

Are our words or names saved or sent anywhere?

They stay only in this page’s memory, without account, upload, autosave, AI or sending. Refreshing or closing clears everything. Save text or PDF before leaving, and decide yourself how to share it.

What do Clear and Undo restore?

Clear this program asks first, then clears the title and all eight fields. Keep returns to the unchanged form. Undo restores every field until you type in any field or close the page. Undo from Review returns to editing. The short Undo label uses the name or title, while the complete original text is restored.

Keep a longer memory for another day

Save your program first. MemoirWell’s separate guided interview can help develop your own memory into an AI-assisted chapter draft to check and edit. It does not import this program or verify its details.
